Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How Accurate Are the Simulations?

This varies on a case-by-case basis. The methodology is more accurate for larger, more independent dynasties. Often, there is not much actual data to quantitatively accessthe accuracy of the simulations. However, the simulatyion can be compared to non-quantitative information to provide an indication of accuracy. Further, in some cases, non-quantitative evidence can be converted into quantitative evidence to verify the accuracy of the simulations.

A key benefit of the simulations is to examine where the simulation does NOT reflect actual historical evidence, since such exceptions may be evidence contribute to making a particular society unique.

Can Simulations Be Customized?

In many cases, you can choose the parameters for your simulation. Also, an "events mask" can be superimposed upon the base simulation to represent special events or "noise". We can provide recommendations about this.

Don't Like This Approach? Order Anyway!

The field of history comprises quite diverse opinions. Even if you feel that this approach is a bunch of nonsense, you can still benefit! Order one of our simulations, then write and publish an article explaining your views. Arguably, it is more interesting to examine where the simulatons fail than where they succeed.

How Much Will This Service Cost?

Please note that you will not be obligated for any expenses that you do not explicitly pre-authorize. Simple simulations might run as low as $100. Fortunately, this is such a new field, that simple simulations may already be ground-breaking. More complicated simulations can be much more expensive.

Work can be performed on a reasonable hourly or flat fee, depending on the project. In many cases, estimates can be provided. Commonly requested simulations and graphics can be provided for a small flat fee. Some simulation results and graphics will be provided free-of-charge, as long as credit is given.

Who Owns The Simulations?

Generally, scientific data cannot be patented or copyrighted. However, our fees typically include a license to any graphics that we deliver to you. For unusual simulations or unusual parameters, stronger IP protection can possibly be arranged.

How Can I Find Out More?

Read materials found under Downloads and Other Publications. Also, additional materials are periodically published such as new case studies.
